For Businesses

Businesses along North Colley are invited to consider any or all of these options:
- Keep your storefront clean! Storm runoff is the number one source of river pollution.
- Consider growing native plants that birds and butterflies depend on. Lady Fern's Native Plants is a great source in the district.
- Use eco-friendly, locally sourced products when practical. Your customers will appreciate your eco- and future-minded practices.
- Adjust your thermostat, conserve energy and save money. Every kilowatt of electricity you save is a pound of air emissions avoided.
- Become a River Star Business. Help the river while you enjoy technical advice, grant funding, public recognition and more!
River Star Businesses
Elizabeth River Project works hard to help businesses find the grants, expertise and resources they need to reduce toxic pollution, improve flood control, and restore crucial wetlands and wildlife habitat. And publicly recognizes them for it!
